Fire & Security Apprentice Engineer

We are looking for the right candidate to join our team whilst completing their apprenticeship & then remain in a permanent role within the business as a qualified Security & Fire Systems Engineer.

As an Apprentice Security & Fire Systems Engineer you will gain on the job experience of installing and maintaining CCTV, Intruder alarm, Access Control & Fire Alarm systems. You will work alongside our experienced Installation and Service & Maintenance Engineers to provide a professional and dependable quality of service to residential and business customers in a timely manner.

Entry requirements

Need to hold a drivers licence and own vehicle
18+ for insurance reasons
Live within 10 miles of CH5 4DD
Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS

Training to be provided

Initially, the apprentice will work alongside experienced engineers, learning and developing in the fields of both fire and security.

The qualification you would be studying towards is the Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at their Watford Centre. You will attend centre one week every eight weeks.

You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.

Things to consider

This is a 36 month apprenticeship, full commitment is needed during this time. Please ensure that you meet the entry requirements before applying for this position.

Future prospects

Upon successful completion, you will be offered a full time position as a qualified engineer.

Salary: £302 per week

Working week: 8am to 5pm

Duration: 36 Months

Possible start date: 04/08/2025
